Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem because He was fully committed to the Father’s mission—seeking and saving the lost (Luke 19:10). As His disciples, we are called to engage those around us, pray for them, serve them, and boldly share the gospel. This six-week plan will help us take intentional steps toward living out that mission.
Week 1: Pray for Gospel Opportunities
Sun, Mar 9, 2025
Pray together and ask God to show you someone in your life you can engage with the Gospel. This could be anyone (neighbors, coworkers, classmates, teammates, etc.). Have everyone in your family do this!
Once you’ve thought of someone, write their name down somewhere in your home (post-it note, refrigerator, etc.). For families, this could be one person you collectively decide on, or you can write down multiple people! Then, spend a few moments praying for these people every day this week. Ask God to open their eyes to their need for Him and to prepare you to be bold and obedient in your relationship with them.
In addition to this, make some time this week to walk around your neighborhood/community together and ask God to open doors for clear, Christ-centered conversations.
Week 2: Serve and Bless
Sun, Mar 16, 2025
Over the past week, you’ve been praying for a specific person in your life to be open to the Gospel. Now, it’s time to start acting in humble obedience!
This week, look for ways to bless that person practically. It could be a meal, help with some work around the house, a gift, or even a thoughtful note or text message. Show them that you care for them the way Jesus cares for you.
As you prepare to do this, keep praying that God would change their heart and give you a greater love for them!
Week 3: Building Relationships
Sun, Mar 23, 2025
Hopefully, you’ve already experienced more interactions and conversations with the person you’ve been praying for. This week, take a step of building a deeper, more intentional relationship with them!
Before today is over, reach out to the person you’ve been praying for and schedule a time to spend time with them. This could be a coffee meeting, a meal together, or some other way to meet up.
When you spend time with them, listen to them. Ask them about their life, and get to know them. Don’t be afraid to share your own story, too. However, if you don’t get to share much or talk about Jesus, that’s okay. You’ll focus on that in the weeks to come.
Keep praying for these people and the conversations you’re having. God is always doing more than we can know!
Week 4: Share the Gospel
Sun, Mar 30, 2025
It’s time to move conversations beyond surface-level engagement. This week, you’ll begin (or continue) proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Spend some time praying for the right moment to talk about Jesus openly with this person in your life. Then, make time for this conversation to happen. Simply put, share the Gospel with this person this week!
As you talk to them, don’t forget to keep asking questions about what they believe about God, Jesus, and the Bible. Be curious and honest, and don’t be afraid to speak the truth of the Bible!
Week 5: Sharing Your Home and Your Testimony
Sun, Apr 6, 2025
Over the past several weeks, you’ve gone from praying for God to reveal someone in your life that needs the Gospel to openly talking about Jesus with that person. Hopefully, this person is becoming a closer friend and a more regular part of your life. This week, you’ll take another step toward deeper conversation and greater relational intimacy.
Invite this person (and their family, if applicable) to your home and feed them a meal. Welcome them into your home and life the same way Jesus has welcomed us into His Kingdom. As you talk with them, find a time to clearly share with them the story of how Jesus has changed your life. In short, share your testimony with them.
You may have done this already. Or, this might feel similar to sharing the Gospel with them. That’s okay! The most important thing is that you’re having regular conversations about Jesus. Try not to be robotic or stale. Meet them where they are, and try to honestly answer whatever questions they may be having.
This would be a good time to ask them how you can pray for them. Then, pray with them before they leave your home.
Week 6: Fast & Invite to Church
Sun, Apr 13, 2025
As we continue to prepare for Easter, consider fasting this week—setting aside something good to pursue something greater: deeper intimacy with Christ. We’re not telling you what to fast from or for how long, but you can visit The Fasting Page for guidance on biblical fasting.
Also, Easter is next Sunday! This is one of the easiest and most meaningful opportunities to invite friends to church. Who’s that one person you’ve been sharing the Gospel with? This week, invite them to join you for Easter! If they come, sit with them, introduce them to others, and pray that God would work in their hearts.
Regardless of their response, this is not the end of your relationship—keep praying, keep engaging, and keep living sent. View Easter gathering times.
